What a weekend!
AMEN hosted the AFCOE to Go programme at Riverside Church, Athlone, last week. I don’t know if you were one of the fortunate attendees of the programme, but if you were you would have, like me, had a truly uplifting experience.
For those who are not aware, two weeks ago Amazing Facts’ AFCOE team landed on the shores of Cape Town and rendered a Spirit-filled, Biblical programme encouraging and equipping us to be effective soul winners for Christ through our personal efforts. The team members Jëan Ross, Chuck Holtry and Carissa McSherry did far more than we anticipated, teaching with clarity and engaging with us in a remarkable way. As an audience we responded in kind, soaking up every thought and idea, and we were blessed by doing so.
I am convinced that the Holy Spirit moved in a special way this weekend, and I look forward to eternity when the tale will be told of the testimonies which arose from the efforts over this weekend and of everything that followed.
As the leadership team of AMEN, we want to say thank you to each one who supported and attended this event. We are extremely grateful for your support, for without it, all our efforts and the tremendous contribution of the AFCOE team would have been in vain.
We are also indebted to Amazing Facts for sending a team to Cape Town to minister to us, and particularly to Jëan, Chuck and Carissa who availed themselves to be used so powerfully. We are grateful not only that you presented, but for the manner in which you did, presenting each session with the love and enthusiasm of those who possess a deep love for Jesus and for His gospel. We are grateful for your dedication to our special commission.
May God bless you all for your efforts and labour of love for His cause.
At the conclusion of such an event, I want to make a special appeal that we keep the work of the Lord in our prayers. That the work will go forward with power as the day of the Lord approaches. Let us pray that events like these are merely the beginning and not the culmination of our work, and that it will go forward in the strength of God.
Let’s pray for our church, for AMEN, for AFCOE, for all supporting ministries of the work and for every soul, including you and me, who is willing to labour in the vineyard. May God give us grace and strength to proclaim His message and His soon return with power and love.
I want to leave you with two thoughts from the gospel of Matthew which captures our sentiments as we close this piece:
“And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come,” Matthew 24:14, and “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you,” Matthew 28:19-20.
May God help us be all He wants us to be.
Yours in Christ Jesus,
AMEN President, on behalf of the AMEN team
